about us

We are Tim and Ann and have been sailing for a number of years now and are at the point where we can put some quality time on the boat and do some real trips rather than weekend excursions.

SV Ohana is a 2009 Jeanneau 42 DS that we purchased in 2020. It’s a wonderful boat with 2 cabins and plenty of space for traveling from the Bahamas in the winter and up the east coast to Maine in the summer and even ocean crossing (hopefully someday).

Our home port is in Pecan Grove Marina in beautiful Oriental NC which is a popular stopover for AICW cruisers.

Oriental is a short 4 hour cruise to the Atlantic and Cape Lookout where we spend many weekends enjoying the clear waters and remote beaches. The cape is a wonderful place to see all sorts of wildlife from sea turtles, porpoise, wild horses and even whales.

Right now, Ann and I are semi-retired so our time is a bit constrained. Hopefully we will change all that and be in a position to cruise months at a time.

In the meantime, I will be preparing Ohana for life living aboard and will do my best to document upgrades and repairs that we do along the way.

Welcome to our web site, I hope you will follow along as we move into this new phase of our lives.

Tim
